David’s career experience spans multiple industries across UK and Europe, US and Canada, Asia and Australasia. He has worked in aerospace, defence, petrochemical and energy sectors with a focus on energy over the years. His expertise covers power generation, transmission and distribution,  storage, hydrogen, carbon capture and industrial decarbonisation.

After a long and successful tenure leading and growing businesses in global engineering firm Atkins, he is now using his valuable expertise to support EDF Energy. 

Whilst at Atkins he created and led the implementation of Engineering Net Zero – plugging the gap between energy policy and aspiration and engineering reality, history, and delivery. This work was used as input to frame government policy, such as the creation of the UK Future System Operator, and to continue to identify the opportunities and risks when it comes to energy security, affordability, and sustainability.
